Terms of Service

1. What Staffly is
Staffly is a platform that connects doctors looking for temporary (locum) shifts with NHS trusts that need to fill them. Staffly is not your employer and is not the trust's employer. We help you find each other, share verified information about qualifications and compliance documents, and manage timesheets and payment for completed shifts.
2. Your account
You must be a doctor registered with the General Medical Council to create an account, and the GMC number, identity documents and other information you provide must be accurate and current. Your account is personal to you and shouldn't be shared.
3. Verification and the trust's decision
We collect and display your GMC status and compliance documents (photo ID, DBS check, right-to-work evidence, qualifications) to help trusts assess whether to book you. Displaying this information is not, on its own, a guarantee of your fitness to practise or of the accuracy of any document. The trust booking a shift remains responsible for its own hiring decision and for satisfying itself, by whatever means it considers necessary, that a doctor is appropriate for a given shift.
4. Applying for and confirming shifts
Applying for a shift is an expression of interest, not a booking. A shift is only confirmed once a trust coordinator accepts your application. Once confirmed, you're expected to attend, or to withdraw with reasonable notice.
[TO BE CONFIRMED: minimum notice period for withdrawing from a confirmed shift, and what happens on a no-show or a late trust cancellation - currently undefined in the product.]
5. Timesheets and payment
You submit a timesheet for hours worked, which the trust reviews and approves before payment is raised. We keep financial records, including approved timesheets, for six years as required by HMRC.
[TO BE CONFIRMED: payment timing/terms after approval, any platform fee and who it's charged to, and the process for a disputed timesheet or invoice - not yet decided.]
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account if information you've provided turns out to be false or expired, if a required compliance document fails verification, or if you break these terms. You can close your account at any time from your profile.
7. Liability
Staffly provides a platform for connecting doctors and trusts and is not a party to, or responsible for the performance of, any shift agreed between them.
[TO BE CONFIRMED: the specific liability allocation between Staffly, the trust and the doctor - particularly around a document that later turns out to be invalid - and any liability cap. This needs legal drafting, not an agent-generated clause, given what's at stake.]
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
